As many of you may have noticed, I have added a blogads strip on the left side. I am proud to say that the majority of my BlogAds come from the Texas Progressive Alliance (TEXAdS), and I have approved every ad shown.

The latest ad to show is the ad to support Glen Maxey for Texas Democratic Party Chair.

Glen Maxey is a leader amongst Texas Democrats. In the eighties, Glen Maxey fought for the rights of those individuals affected with HIV. In 1991, Maxey became the first openly gay representative in the State of Texas. Serving six terms in office, Maxey drafted a lot of progressive legislation that passed, often with the help of the most unlikely allies.

Maxey has since retired from office, and is now working as a political consultant, running the Travis County Democratir Party’s successful 2004 Co-ordinated Campaign. Currently, Glen Maxey is serving as the political director of Democracy for Texas.
